Kindergarten e Music Reharsal Hall, Sluderno, Bz

The building for this design competition was conceived as a monolithic bloc positioned on the edge of the project area in the centre of a small town in Val Venosta. The volume has alignments that are meant to create a complex system of public spaces where the relations between the buildings and the surrounding environment are clearly marked. Through a slight asymmetry on the façade, a minimal roof deformation, and calibrating the height of the eaves, the project proposes a simple and yet dymanic volume as the core of a wide range of surrounding public spaces. The building’s civic character is expressed through three openings that create some permeability between outside and inside and bring public and gathering functions to the façade. At the rear, the façade takes a more private character and a smaller scale. The alignment of the outside volume reach inside the building, defining the different spaces and producing a succeding ensemble of dynamic spaces that multiply the visual connections between the various rooms.
