Kindergarten, Tenero-Contra (TI)

The area of the project lies at the southern edge of the Tenero-Contra residential area, in between the railway line and a busy highway.
At the center of the lot are a primary school and a gym, two 1970s buildings with interesting artitectural features. The project knits together the new volumes with the pre-existing historical buildings, drawing on the latter’s axial positioning, orientation and volumetric characteristics. The inner distribution, simple and neat, is determined by reiterating, in the central part of the building, the two-level main unit of the section, and by positioning the accessory spaces in the building’s extremities.
