Communication Tower
Sogliano al Rubicone, Fc

The competition notice requested the design of a telecommunication tower that at the same time served as a belvedere. The project creates a sculptural element, a large monolith inserted into the natural landscape. The tower has a multi-faceted perimeter. The surface is rough and carved at different heights. Its interior is configured as a hollow box with irregular walls, occupied by only the staircase and open at the top to disclose the sky. The structure is lightened by large splayed openings in "Corten steel" that allow light to go through. On different levels, up to a height of thirty meters, rest loggias stand out as vantage points over the landscape.
